Miss Chris & Miss Randi's Language Lesson - Week of 3/9/15

This week in Language Group we read the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  I made a caterpillar that had a piece of string attached so the children could string each piece of food as it came up in the book.  We talked about what each item was and 'how many' there were.  Something else that came up while doing the activity were the words 'high/low' and 'fast/slow.'  These came up as the children placed the food items on the string.  When they held the string up high, the food went to the caterpillar fast.  If they held the string low, the food went slow.

You can count many items at home with your child.  How many of a particular food item (cookies, crackers), plates on the table, blue socks in the laundry, etc.  You can also move your body fast, then slow.
